FBI agent Max Dolinger would never move in on a friend’s girl, even if the friend wasn't much of a friend and the girl was very much a woman. That’s why he steered clear of Sara Reynolds during a wedding weekend in which he could barely take his eyes off her.

But now Sara and his one-time friend Larry Brunell are no longer together, and Sara has come to him for a favor. Larry is missing along with thousands of dollars which Larry may or may not have gotten in a con in cahoots with Sara's teenage brother, who insists it’s all a big misunderstanding. But the victim is threatening to go to the cops unless he gets the money back soon.

What's by-the-book Max to do when Sara asks him to track Larry down without involving the cops?
