THE CUPID CAPER
Harlequin Duets
May 2001

Sam Creighton is neither a private detective nor a man who would dream of stealing his brother's fiance. Until he meets Mallory Jamison. Mallory wants Sam to track down his missing brother, the real private detective in the family. Sam's brother has left town to rethink his engagement, and Mallory is desperate to find him to convince him he's in the throes of true love.

Sam takes the case even though he's rapidly developing a case of the hots for Mallory, who is strictly off limits except in his dreams. He doesn't know that Mallory is only pretending to be his brother's fiance, a fact she can't confess despite her overwhelming attraction to Sam. The real fiance is Mallory's sister, who has forbidden Mallory from meddling into her affairs.

Mallory's flaw, however, is butting into other people's business. She feels so strongly that Sam's brother and her sister are a love match that she's willing to play Cupid to get them back together. Even if it involves a masquerade from the man who has claimed her heart.

leads are lots of fun, as are the many
colorful supporting characters."
